As shared earlier this month, the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) has announced changes to the state assessment system. Beginning this academic year, the state will transition to computer-adaptive assessments in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics. The new tests, NJSLA-Adaptive and NJGPA-Adaptive, will fully replace the current New Jersey Student Learning Assessments (NJSLA) starting in Spring 2026.
