CAROL DIMINO PARAPROFESSIONAL
I am sincerely honored and humbled to have been chosen as the Educational Service Professional of the Year at School #3.My journey at School #3 began in 1989 when my first child entered the second grade. From the moment I walked through the doors, I felt a warmth and fellowship unlike any other. That feeling has remained throughout both of my children's schooling and during my time as a paraprofessional. To date, I have spent 19 years working as a paraprofessional and have had the privilege of working with hundreds of children, spanning every grade level.
Educating a child as the lead teacher or support is am incomparable experience. Each year, with every new personality comes challenges and successes; all proven to have enriched my life. Fort Lee has provided me the opportunity to grow personally and professionally, and for that I am grateful. As the years go by, the faces may change, but School #3 remains constant with its welcoming spirit and familial affection. Year after year, our school provides a second home to the children of my neighborhood, the same neighborhood I had the privilege of raising my own children in. I am honored to be a part of such a wonderful school community, continually working to prepare the children for a successful future. I look forward to remaining part of School #3 in the years to come.
ARLENE NUNEZ SECOND GRADE TEACHER
I am very proud and humbled to have been chosen 2016-2017 School #3 Teacher of the Year. I was born in The Dominican Republic and moved to the United States when I was twelve years old. Since I was a young girl, I always knew I wanted to become a teacher. I greatly appreciated the help I received from my ESL teachers to learn English. I received a Bachelor of Art in Elementary Education and Spanish from New Jersey City University, and I earned a Master of Science in Elementary Reading and Literacy from Walden University. As a teacher in Fort Lee since 2007, I have most enjoyed working with children from all different backgrounds, and seeing the growth of my students over the course of the school year.

School No. 3 Teacher of The YearSchool Three is proud to announce that Mrs. Angela Angelidis, a third grade teacher has been selected as School No.3 Teacher of the Year. She will be honored at a luncheon on May 29Th.
Students "caught" exhibiting these characteristics during each month will be given a certificate which will be displayed on our character education bulletin board. We will also be conducting awards assemblies throughout the year to honor students exhibiting good character.
Additionally, we are trying to get more student involved in performing service to the school and engaging in school activities. Students will be chosen to do morning announcements and sing the national anthem each morning. We have also formed school service squads to help out with our younger children during lunch and with peer mediation activities.
We hope that you will support and reinforce these themes at home, as we continue to build character and service at school.

MAD MONEY'S JIM CRAMER VISITS SCHOOL #3!
On Friday, 11/13, Jim Cramer, the host of the CNBC program Mad Money and the author of the book Getting Back to Even, engaged a group of fifth and sixth grade G&T students from all four elementary schools in an hour long dialogue about the Stock Market. The event took place at School #3. Producers and a camera crew came along to video tape the event and a 45 second clip was aired at the end of that evening's Mad Money program.

This event was inspired by the students' participation and great interest in the online Stock Market Game sponsored by PNC Bank. The online simulation offers students the opportunity to conduct research and to invest $100,000 of virtual money in stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. Mr. Cramer was eager to impart his wisdom and to answer general and "Lightening Round" questions about specific stocks that were prepared by the students.
Many thanks to Mr. Victor Calderin, who is employed by CNBC and whose two sons are former students of School #3, for bringing this idea to life! Many thanks also to Jackie Fabozzi and Kat Ricker, along with the camera crew from CNBC. And, of course, BOOYAH to Mr. Jim Cramer for taking time out of his very busy schedule to entertain and educate the discerning, young investors!
* A very special thanks to Mr. Robert Kravitz, principal of School #3.
*Thank you to Mrs. Costantino, principal of School 1.
*Thank you also to Mrs. Church and Mr. Emr, principals of Schools 2 & 4.
*Thank you to Dr. Romano, Ms. Best, and Mr. Bang for attending.
*Thank you to Dr. Bandlow and the Board of Education for supporting this event.
In the spirit of internet safety month, School 3 students participated in many activities including one to create iSafe posters. All of them were excellent and the students learned much about internet safety. Below are a few that stood out from the rest. Enjoy.
